At Zipella, we are passionate about creating high-quality coffee that helps build community strength, support wellbeing, and enrich the lives of Aboriginal people, by donating a portion of our funds to the KARI Foundation. Zipella received Supply Nation status in 2014, and gives preference to suppliers who support other Aboriginal businesses.
The reason behind our passion for coffee is because, just like our traditions, it serves as a meaningful bridge that encourages people to gather and to talk to each other.
Bridging the gap between Aboriginal people and their heritage
Steve, our Founder and CEO, works in the community health sector, and saw firsthand the issues arising from a disconnection to culture – and wanted to find a way to drive others to help close the gap.
Our products deliver more than just exceptional coffee. We provide an opportunity for corporate Australia to help fund bright futures for Aboriginal families and young people.
We are on a mission to help the KARI Foundation restore the ties that bind Aboriginal people to their heritage. Steve was inspired by the pioneering work of KARI’s Genealogy Department who are driven to connect people back to their roots, fostering a sense of belonging and cultural identity.
The funds donated from product sales go towards funding cutting-edge technologies, and advanced genealogical research that reconnect people with their ancestry. It is important that every reconnection serves as a step toward healing, growth, and an enriched understanding of one’s roots.
